BourbonBlog.com‘s Tom Fischer has once again been invited to be featured Bourbon expert joining friends at the 2nd Annual “Cigarbecue” in Newburgh, New York at on April 2nd, 2022.

Due to the exclusivity of the cigars being handed out and our desire to make this meet and greet as intimate as possible, ticket sales are limited.
Tickets to support these two great causes will be $150
It will be a fun day of fine cigars, fine spirits, and fine food to benefit 2 good causes. All proceeds raised will benefit the Chef Jeff Michner Foundation and Newburgh Illuminated. Newburgh Illuminated is a group designed to celebrate the diversity and dynamism of our wonderful river city.

Jeff Michner was the Executive Chef of Pig Beach BBQ in Gowanus Brooklyn. He tragically, and suddenly passed away in the spring of 2018 at the age of 36, leaving behind his wife Sara, and his 16-month-old daughter Hayes. A foundation was created in Jeff’s honor to keep his memory with us.
The organization embraces the things he loved best: family, friends, and great food. The Jeff Michner Foundation creates scholarships for culinary students and supporting families managing loss and grief.
What you’ll get for the event…
In addition to the cigars and a pairing, Each guest will receive premium cigars from the likes of SP1014, Davidoff, Drew Estate, Perdomo, and Liga Privada. The cigars will be paired with tastings from the likes of Michters and Peerless Distillery, Newburgh Brewing Company, and cocktail creations from the Handsome Devil bartenders.
In addition, the great people of Fortuna Cigars will be on-site hand-rolling cigars for guests.
Matt Abdoo and Shane McBride will be our guest chefs. Matt and Shane are the owners, chefs, and pitmasters of Pig Beach. In addition to having restaurants in NYC and Palm Beach, Matt and Shane have won some of the most prestigious awards on the BBQ scene including top honors at the Memphis in May World BBQ Championships. Matt is also the food correspondent for the NBC “Today” Show.
Sanj from Sanj’s smokeshop in Bloomfield NJ and Matty Rock will be on hand as well making sure all your cigar needs and questions are taken care of. Between the 2 there is over 50 years of cigar history and knowledge in the field. Trust me if you have a question or comment about a cigar, these are your guys.

The Newburgh Illuminated Festival
The Newburgh Illuminated Festival is designed to celebrate and share the great diversity of our city. The cigarbecue is a great example of what the festival stands for as a number of small local businesses will come together to make sure your visit to our city is memorable. Ed and Noelle Randolph will open the pits and let you see and taste what has made us the best new restaurant in the Hudson Valley. Mike Kelly of the Newburgh Flour Shop will take care of our sweet tooth and Jerrod Lang of Blacc Vanilla Roasters might just provide us the pep in our step needed after an afternoon of eating bbq. The kids of Newburgh Brewing Company will be on hand to share their great craft beer with you.
