About Share the Spirit Foundation:

Share the Spirit FoShare_the_spiritundation is a 501(C)(3) public charity, funded by private donations and all proceeds go toward helping those in need. No travel costs or administrative expenses are received by the organization. To date, over 5,000 pair of shoes have been distributed and more events are being planned each year.

Share the Spirit Foundation works hand-in-hand with volunteers, communities and donors to assist those in need in a dignified manner. They organize shoe and school supply events for deserving local children and educate younger generations on “keeping the spirit alive” and sharing the burden of providing for those in need.

Share_the_spirit_nonprofit Founded by sisters-in-law Karen Voepel and Tonya Voepel, they work with local schools and social service agencies to give needy children the opportunity to shop for new shoes, just like others more fortunate.

Their mission is to share the burden of providing for those in need … after all, with everyone giving just a bit, the burden seems much lighter. In Illinois, Tonya has opened a “Shoe Closet” where the children in the homeless community may shop with dignity for new shoes.

In Colorado, Karen is driving the “Shoe Cruizer,” filled with new shoes, to those needy children living in the outlying areas of the state.

Share the Spirit also encourages others to use physical challenges to remind themselves to honor those enduring their own personal hardships. Visit http://www.sharethespirit.info for more information.
