Cocktails for Philadelphia Eagles Fans

Eagles’ Endzone Fizz: Yes, a Boulevardier Fizz!

Ingredients:

1 oz. Wigle Whiskey Pennsylvania Straight Rye
1 oz. Campari
1 oz. Sweet Vermouth
2 dashes of Orange Bitters
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
1 egg white
Orange peel for garnish
Club soda

Instructions:

In a shaker filled with ice, combine the whiskey, Campari, sweet vermouth, orange bitters, and egg white.
Dry shake the mixture (without ice) for about 20 seconds to create a frothy texture.

Strain the mixture into a Collins glass filled with ice. Top off with club soda.

Express the orange peel over the drink by holding it over the glass and giving it a good squeeze to release the oils, then drop it into the glass. Dash Angostura bitters to finish.

Bartender tip:

This cocktail is a twist on classic fizz cocktails like the Ramos Gin Fizz and the Boulevardier, using Wigle Whiskey Pennsylvania Rye Whiskey in place of gin. The addition of orange and chocolate bitters adds a unique and complex flavor profile, while the egg white adds a frothy texture and enhances the flavors, making this a velvety smooth, and balanced drink. However, caution should be taken when using egg whites in cocktails, as they can carry a risk of foodborne illness if not handled properly. It is recommended to use pasteurized egg whites or to purchase a commercially available egg white substitute.

What inspired us:

Pennsylvania has a rich history of rye whiskey production, dating back to the colonial era. Dad’s Hat Pennsylvania Rye Whiskey pays homage to this heritage by using locally-sourced rye and traditional distillation techniques. This cocktail combines the bold flavors of Pennsylvania rye with the sweetness of Pennsylvania-grown honey and the tartness of fresh lemon juice, making it the perfect drink to celebrate the Eagles’ victory.
