BourbonBlog.com‘s Tom Fischer and The Bourbon Review’s Seth Thompson review the new Angel’s Envy Rye along while tasting it on camera for the first time with Master Distiller Lincoln Henderson, his son Wes Henderson COO of Louisville Distilling Company, and grandson Kyle Henderson.

This exclusive first taste was filmed at The Bourbon Classic as three generations of the Hendersons came together with Tom and Seth on-camera.

According to Wes Henderson, Louisville Distilling Company will only release 4,000 6- pack cases, about 24,000 bottles in the first wave , 15 states in early May,

This super-premium rye whiskey will be available in small quantities in only about 15 states according to Wes. The suggested retail price for a 750ml bottle, which may vary by market, will be $69.99.  Angel’s Envy Rye is 100 proof and 50% alcohol by volume.

It is difficult to find, but from what we tasted it will be worth the search.

Yet another gem from Angel’s Envy!

Angel’s Envy Rye is aged and conditioned according to Lincoln’s specific direction and intuition. A self-proclaimed malcontent, Lincoln chose to use 95% rye and 5% malted barley and aged the whiskey for at least six years in in American new charred oak barrels.

He then finished the whiskey in hand-selected Caribbean rum casks, which began as small French cognac barrels, for up to 18 months. The mingling of raw, spicy and earthy rye notes paired with the sweetness imparted by rum finishing, results in an ultra smooth and accessible ultra-rye whiskey, even at 100 proof

States that Angel’s Envy Rye will be released in include California, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Texas.
