BourbonBlog.com‘s Tom Fischer and mixlogist Stephen Dennison visit Kentucky Bourbon Distillers in Bardstown, Kentucky for a Bourbon tasting with Drew Kulsveen. They taste Willett Family Estate Single Barrel Bourbons including a 3, 8, 13, and 17 year-old along with the Johnny Drum Private Stock.

As they taste, they take a private tour to view the progress of the restoration of the distillery to its original state. The work is now in the final stages of completion. Upon completion of renovations, Kentucky Bourbon Distillers, Ltd. will welcome visitors from all over the world.

I picked up a 3 and an 8 yr Willitt private this year at KBF. Pairing that with last year’s 8 yr old vintage, I’ve got a nice variety of this bourbon. It’s a nice bourbon to add to anyone’s bar. Thanks for posting some history on this rare breed!

I don’t think Dallas / Texas will see this product any time soon, much to my sadness. By the description it looks like it’s a keeper.
