Macintoddy Recipe with Maker's Mark and Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur

Macintoddy from Joe McGuirk of Highland Kitchen, Somerville, MA

6 oz. spiced cider (see below)
1 1/4 oz. Maker’s Mark bourbon
1/2 t. allspice
3/4 oz. Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur
1 orange slice

To make spiced cider, boil a gallon of apple cider with 2 cinnamon sticks and an orange studded with 10 cloves; reduce to simmer.

For a MacIntoddy, mix 6 oz. of cider with remaining ingredients and serve in a mug with an orange slice.
