A few years ago I was introduced to the 2008 bottling – wow. Since that time I’ve been able to acquire another 08, an 09, three 10′s and three 11′s. By comparison the 09 was a disappointment, the 10 went back up and was almost as good as the 08 but the 11 – head and shoulders above the 08. Smooth, great first taste, then the barrel just lingers in your mouth for a long time. Neat or on the rocks this is the best bourbon I’ve ever tasted.

Tried the 12, 15 and 20 year old, all very good. 12 was like vannila ice cream on apple pie, the 15 could work on pancakes. But the 20 was the smoothest. I’ m hooked need to save up for the 23 though don’t they know we are in a recession?

Tim and Tickle are actors, they were on a show from 2002 about prohibition that also features Junior Johnson. It was just on H2, a history channel show affiliated with discovery networks

An important part of my Manhattan is the muddled and whole cherries at the bottom of the glass. I also prefer the Evan Williams single barrel bourbon as the base whiskey for the drink.

I’m more of a rum fan, but, do enjoy my bourbons and whiskeys. I’ve always thought of Jim Beam as more of a lower grade brand I use to mix with. After trying Devil’s Cut, I have happily changed my mind. For the punch it packs, it is mellow, and,
complex. I’d give it two thumbs up, but, might drop my glass in doing so.
