After the success of last year’s Jefferson’s Reserve Groth Cask Finish Bourbon, Jefferson’s Bourbon gives BourbonBlog.com the exclusive first peak at their new release of Jefferson’s Reserve Pritchard Hill Cabernet Cask Finished Bourbon. Jefferson’s Reserve Pritchard Hill Cask Finished will be released during the fall of 2016.

Trey Zoeller tells us he is a huge fan of the Upper Valley Cabernet Sauvignon wines from the Pritchard Hill area. Trey worked with with Cyril Chappellet of the Chappellet Estate Winery – known for establishing this area of Napa Valley – using their wine casks to age this bourbon.

chappellet_estateThe method used here was a twin wood aging process.

This was a blend of three complex, elegant and sophisticated bourbons having aged in new American Oak barrels were finished in French Oak casks that once held Pritchard Hill Cabernet Sauvignon wine from the high elevation, rocky slopes of the Chappellet vineyard in St. Helena, Napa Valley.

Jefferson’s Bourbon says the result is aromas of blackberry, black cherry, licorice, dark chocolate and a lush sweetness the bourbon.
