Elijah Craig 23 Year Old Single Barrel Bourbon

BourbonBlog.com is the first to report online that Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc. will release a new limited edition Elijah Craig 23-Year-Old Single Barrel Bourbon mid-August 2014 for the retail price of $199.99 at 90 proof in a 750 ml. size bottle. We’ll bring you a review of this Bourbon soon here on BourbonBlog.com.

Elijah Craig 23 will ship to a small number select markets across the country in August and retail shelves throughout September. Elijah Craig 23 is a successor to the Elijah Craig 21 released in the Fall of 2013 and the Elijah Craig 20 in Spring of 2012.

Heaven Hill tells us that Elijah 23 was drawn from barrels in the middle floors of their rickhouses, where the effects of long aging are mitigated by the more moderate temperature fluctuations.  Heaven Hill says as they hold the world’s second largest inventory of Bourbon and the most “extra-aged” barrels of any distillery particular and that they carefully selected from these all barrels for Elijah Craig 23 from their inventory of over one million aging barrels.

Elijah Craig 23 will be bottled the same familiar bottle as the 18, 20, and 21, but unlike the others this one will carry a green label.
