Four Toses 125 Anniversary Small Batch Bourbon

Every autumn, Four Roses releases a Limited Edition Small Batch Bourbon.

To celebrate their 125th Anniversary, Four Roses tells BourbonBlog.com that in September 2013 will release a small batch Bourbon in honor of their anniversary as the “Four Roses 125th Anniversary Limited Edition Small Batch” for around $85-90 / 750 ml bottle.

BourbonBlog.com is the first media outlet to report the details and bring you a review linked here on this new  2013 Four Roses Limited Edition Small Batch Bourbon that will be at barrel proof, uncut and non-chill filtered.

Four Roses says this Bourbon exhibits aromas of creamy vanilla, light oak and cherry cordial, with hints of nutmeg and cocoa.

8,000 total bottles will be released. Four Roses Master Distiller Jim Rutledge personally chose three of Four Roses’ ten unique bourbon recipes to create the new barrel strength, small batch bourbon, which include the following:

– 18-year-old selection of Four Roses’ recipe coded OBSV (featuring delicate fruit, spicy and creamy characteristics)

– 13-year-old OBSK (rich in spiciness, full body),

– 13-year-old OESK (spicy, full body).

The palate offers flavors of raspberries and apricots, encompassing a long, luxurious vanilla bean and cherry finish.

“I’m always coming across some really amazing bourbons during the selection process,” Rutledge tells BourbonBlog.com. “And for this special release, I was presented with quite the challenge to make a selection worthy of toasting our 125 does just that.”
