2011 NCAA Final Four Basketball HoustonBourbonblog.com is proud to offer the second annual installment of our celebratory shots for final four finishes during March Madness. As last year, we enjoyed the idea of a toasting to one’s team in our Celebratory Shots for Final Four Finishes– a way to spread the jubilation or tragedy, so to speak.

Once again, we chose spirits that are common to thier geographic areas of origin. Additionally, we have selected ingredients that also have indigenous or flavor profile meanings.

So, gather some friends and prepare to cheer or jeer with these fun concoctions!

Candied Pecans

To candy pecans, quickly boil and then roll pecans in sugar until completely covered. Place in 300d oven for 5 minutes. Spread across parchment-lined sheet pan to cool. Separate and serve.

To macerate blackberries, soak in champagne vinegar for 2-3 hours. Strain before service.
